Job Summary: The Hardscape Foreman will oversee and manage all hardscaping projects from start to finish, ensuring that installations are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role requires leadership, project management skills, and a thorough knowledge of construction and landscaping techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Supervision and Leadership:
- Lead and supervise a team of hardscape laborers, landscapers, and subcontractors.
- Delegate tasks and ensure that team members follow safety protocols, company policies, and industry standards.
- Conduct daily briefings to review job expectations and safety considerations.
- Provide on-the-job training to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Project Management:
- Coordinate and oversee the installation of hardscape features such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, fire pits, water features, and outdoor kitchens.
- Manage schedules, materials, equipment, and labor resources.
- Collaborate with project managers to set timelines and budgets.
- Monitor job progress and make adjustments to ensure deadlines are met.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect completed work for accuracy, safety, and compliance with local building codes and regulations.
- Ensure all materials are of the required quality and specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise on the job site.
- Safety Compliance:
- Enforce a strict safety program on all job sites.
- Ensure all team members are trained in safe practices and understand OSHA regulations.
- Conduct safety inspections and respond immediately to potential hazards or violations.
- Communication:
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates on project status, including any delays or issues.
- Address customer questions or concerns related to hardscaping work.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Complete daily reports documenting work progress, materials used, and labor hours.
- Track inventory of tools and materials, ensuring timely reordering and proper stock levels.
- Submit timesheets and assist in payroll processing.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Hardscape Foreman or in a similar leadership role within landscaping or construction.
- In-depth knowledge of hardscaping techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficient in using tools and equipment associated with hardscaping, such as power tools, excavation machines, and leveling instruments.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and on physically demanding tasks.
Preferred:
- OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification.
- First Aid and CPR certified.
- Experience with project budgeting and scheduling software.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to work in outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.
- Stamina for standing, walking, bending, and performing manual labor throughout the day.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.36 - $35.00 per hour
