Global fashion company in contemporary is seeking a highly creative Designer for knitwear / sweaters to join their team! Design from concept to pre-production. Experience in the contemporary market is a plus.In this position, you will partner with sales to utilize your design knowledge and creative inspiration for the knitwear, sweater, and woven collection.Responsibilities include : Develop and identify trend direction for contemporary sweaters including color direction, stitch, yarn, trend, print / pattern, and silhouette direction.Design and develop innovative trends for sweaters, wovens, and knits as a collection.Responsible for product design and development from concept to pre-production.Create detailed flat sketches for presentations to the product development team and buyers.Shop the marketplace for inspiration and product opportunities in all RTW categories.Communicate seasonal trend direction to sales and the retail partners.Partner with the technical design team and production ensuring quality standards.Create tech packs to be sent to factories for sample development and production samples.Work closely with sales, merchandising, and production teams.Ensure products are aligned with an overall business strategy including merchandising key product assortments.Stay updated on industry trends, market demands, and competitor products to ensure our collections are on the cutting edge.Understanding of garment construction from the onset of creating development or costing tech packs.Ability to identify key trends and determine how they appropriately relate to the consumer and collection.Must be detail-oriented with an understanding of time-sensitive projects and sample requests.Skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Proficient in Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator, and 3D a must.Technical skills with sweater knowledge a must.Salary Range : $130K-140K
