Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Compliance Manager to oversee and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Fair Housing regulations, LIHTC compliance, and relevant laws. This role requires exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to provide crisis intervention when necessary. The Compliance Manager will play a critical role in fostering a culture of compliance and ethical practices throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs that align with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Monitor compliance with Fair Housing regulations and LIHTC requirements, ensuring all policies are effectively communicated and adhered to.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas of risk and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Provide training and support to staff on compliance-related matters, including motivational interviewing techniques for effective communication.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance is integrated into all business operations.
- Serve as a point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections or inquiries.
- Negotiate with stakeholders to resolve compliance issues while maintaining positive relationships.
- Utilize software tools such as Yardi and OneSite for tracking compliance metrics and reporting.
Experience
- A degree in law, social work, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in compliance management or a similar role within the housing or social services sector.
- Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and addiction counseling is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on building rapport with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in using compliance management software tools is desirable.
