Leading manufacturing company is seeking a professional, effective Human Resources Specialist. The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for day to day, broad spectrum HR related tasks and administration. The Human Resources Specialist will primarily focus on human capital life cycle including recruiting and onboarding, terminations, timekeeping, payroll, benefits, employee evaluations and employee relations. The Human Resources Specialist is expected to partner with Plant Management and department managers to support the overall employee experience.
Responsibilities:
· Effectively recruit, interview, hire and onboard individuals to maintain ideal department headcounts for work available
· Provide all HR related paperwork necessary for onboarding and offboarding to the Corporate office for system entry and termination
· Administer drug screens and other pre-employment screenings and testing
· Enter employee information and ensure accuracy into HRIS and other systems
· Offer employee education on benefits offerings, policies and processes
· Lead and participate in required plant trainings regarding DEIB, Harassment and Drug & Alcohol Awareness training
· Plan and lead quarterly plant meetings with content specific to HR-related topics
· Enforce company policy and support discipline accordingly when breaches occur
· Advocate for and be a partner to the Safety Manager and support all endeavors regarding a safe workplace, including being a member of the Safety Committee
· Assist Payroll department with timekeeping processes by managing time cards and making corrections as needed for accurate payroll processing
· Ensure compliance on required processes (E-verify, state new-hire reporting systems, etc.) and documents (Form I-9, etc.) is maintained at all times
· Create and manage files and filing systems and audit as necessary
· Investigate all employee complaints thoroughly and completely while upholding the highest level of confidentiality
· Actively participate in leadership meetings as requested and required
· Coordinate employee engagement activities
· Other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 3 years in a progressive Human Resources role
· Experience supporting a manufacturing environment preferred
· Bilingual (Spanish) highly preferred
· Solid understanding of HR processes and laws such as FMLA, FLSA and Title VII
· Must be at least 18 years of age
· Must pass a drug screen and background check
· Must be authorized to work in the United States
· Ability to work Monday – Friday onsite
· Must be able to work overtime as needed (non-exempt position)
Education:
· High school diploma or GED, some college (Associate’s degree) preferred
