Injection Molding Process Specialist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Process Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process, ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a strong understanding of process operations, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Under moderate supervision, starts up and adjusts injection-molding machines. The position is also responsible for ensuring that the sites QMS and EHS is being implemented and managed properly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Starts up injection molding machines according set-up sheet and in anticipation of molding process
• Starts-up robots, periphery and end-of-arm grippers in anticipation of molding process
• Run production according IQMS-scheduling and restart machines according defined start up procedures and within defined quality and specification.
• Perform line clearance during start-up and after interruptions
• Performs visual checks of parts during production and after restart of machines, to make sure running parts are correct.
• Implement process improvements (molds, robot, camera, material flow, equipment, safety, functionality, assembly tables) in agreement with Shift Supervisor and our internal Change control process
• Support Set-up of molds during shift, if needed.
• Troubleshoot alarms and interruptions during shift as needed.
• Check running machines and equipment for leakages and defects.
• Supports implementation of continuous improvement and utilizes problem-solving skills.
• Stores and maintains periphery, EOA-grippers , screws, clamps, nozzles clean and safe
• Responsible for line clearance on machine and tables of special tools and gages and paper instructions of the previous product and ensures the product being setup is properly staged.
• Supports mold cleaning in accordance with the cleaning schedule and as needed.
• Maintains high quality standards per ISO14001 requirements.
• Maintains a safe and clean work area according 5S standards
• Other duties assigned by management.

Required Competencies, Skills and Experience:

• A deep knowledge of the injection molding process; including production operations such as machine set-up, processing, operation and assembly is required.

· A minimum of three years performing injection molding machine operations, adjustments and minor maintenance in the plastics processing industry, and use of personal computers and related software are required.

Education and Job Experience

High school diploma

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Required to stand, walk, push and pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
• Exert 20 to 55 pounds of force frequently, exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Frequently hand lifting of material up to 55 pounds in weight and pushing up to 250 pounds.
• High noise levels
• Physical hazards from moving parts
• Breathing fumes, dust and mist
• Skin exposure to oils and releasing agents
