What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Assistant position at Confidential?
We are looking for an organized, highly motivated individual to help support a civil litigation and Social Security disability practice.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing and ensuring complete and accurate files, including requesting records and bills, tracking all outstanding requests, and updating all files
- Communicating with clients, medical providers, and governmental agencies as needed
- Preparing correspondence, appeal documents, and submission letters
- Preparing outgoing mail
- Managing deadlines, appointments, and calendaring
- Providing administrative support to the supervising attorney and paralegal
Skills and Education:
- Requirements: Excellent written and oral communication skills; attention to detail; ability to prioritize, multitask, and work under pressure; strong people skills and ability to work well with others; excellent organizational and secretarial skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office; typing speed of at least 50 wpm; and preferred experience in a law office
- High school degree
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
