*Overview*
We are seeking a dynamic Payroll Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of our payroll team while focusing on process improvement and payroll best practices. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to ensure efficient team performance.
*Duties*
The Payroll Manager is responsible for management of all aspects of payroll processing, including supervision of the daily activities of the payroll staff, management weekly payroll submissions to ADP, management of union benefit payments, assistance with payroll related audits and reporting, and all payroll related communications for the department.
Responsibilities & Authorities:
- Daily supervision of Payroll Specialist staff.
- Management of weekly payrolls processed through ADP.
- Coordination, preparation, and review of monthly union benefit payments.
- Management of rate changes for all contracts and unions.
- Audit assistance, including all financial audits, union benefit audits, and payroll tax audits
- Annual 401K union testing and reconciliations of union benefits
- Year-end payroll special processing, including W-2’s and all payroll reporting
- Management of resolution to any wage and benefit payment concerns.
- Management of Verification of Employment and replacement of W-2 requests, and all other payroll related inquiries and information requests.
- Calculations of union benefits.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Mathematics or Business Administration, and 6-8 years of payroll work experience required.
- Experience with processing union payrolls preferred.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to organize, work efficiently, and meet deadlines.
- Advanced excel skills.
- Ability to function and contribute to a team environment.
- Prior supervisory/management experience required.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, experience desired.
