Position Summary: Directs a heavy equipment manufacturing work force to ensure safe, quality and efficient manufacturing/assembly of all products manufactured; this position works under the general and technical supervision of the Executive Vice President.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage plant operations for the production shops.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
- Coordinate plant activities through planning with production supervisors to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Manages capital asset maintenance.
- Work with Quality Control, Engineering, sales, and purchasing to establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
- Control and monitor labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses.
- Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, or make suggestions for adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
- Lead and mentor the production team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
- Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs.
- Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel. direction, development and leadership to production supervisors.

Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education and Experience
Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering highly preferred.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has supervisory responsibilities over production staff, and maintenance.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Experience in Word, Excel, and other Office products preferred.
Travel
Some travel (<10% of the year) is expected for this position.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and weather. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at the job site. The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud.
Salary : $110,000 - $120,000
