Role summary:
This person will report directly to the Assistant Controller. As our Senior Accountant, you will support the general accounting operations and help maintain control over our financial transactions. Your responsibilities will also include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining the general ledger, preparing month-end close procedures, and ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all finance tasks. In the role of Senior Accountant, you will be joining a world-class Finance team that delivers innovative solutions to tough problems. This position is fully onsite from our Chattanooga office location. Currently, the working hours for this role are Monday through Friday, dayshift hours. Please note that as our company evolves, working arrangements, locations, and hours may change to meet business needs.
Responsibilities include:
• Support and assist with the accurate and timely close of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and closing activities in accordance with International Financial Reporting
Standards (“IFRS”) including, but not limited to:
- Preparation of relevant reporting packages for external stakeholders
- Recordation of journal entries for activities such as payroll, accruals, intercompany,
- fixed assets, inventory, bank, and credit card transactions.
- Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations
- Assist with annual audits, including external reporting requirements and compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (“SOX”) requirements.
• Document and maintain effective systems of internal control
• Facilitate continuous improvement processes and focus on system improvements
• Assist with budget preparation and preparing the monthly budget variance analyses
• Recommend changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce costs and maximize profit.
• Collaborate closely with Finance Team and other Departments to maintain outstanding financial health
• Work on ad-hoc projects as assigned
• Other duties as assigned
You are:
• A graduate with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field
• An experienced accounting professional with 3-5 years of experience in a General Accounting position
• Familiar with working in a manufacturing environment
• Proficient in Excel (VBA & Macros a major plus)
• Analytically driven to interpret and communicate financial data and information
• A highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative
