Position Overview:
Our client, a rapidly growing manufacturing company based on the north side of Indianapolis, is seeking a Senior Human Resources Manager. This is a confidential search, and the ideal candidate will be a seasoned HR professional with significant experience in manufacturing environments, particularly in high-growth settings.
The Senior HR Manager will be a key strategic partner to the plant leadership, driving HR initiatives that directly contribute to the success of the manufacturing operation. You will lead day-to-day HR activities at the plant while also collaborating with corporate leadership to align HR strategies with business goals. In this high-growth, dynamic environment, the ideal candidate will balance both tactical and strategic HR responsibilities, including talent management, employee relations, compliance, training, and performance management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Leadership & Plant Operations: Act as the primary HR leader for the manufacturing plant, aligning HR strategies with the plant’s goals and ensuring the efficient day-to-day HR operations. Partner with plant leadership to address workforce challenges, optimize labor efficiency, and drive overall business performance.
- Change Management & Continuous Improvement: Manage HR initiatives during periods of change, such as plant expansions, new production lines, or process improvements. Ensure HR practices are adaptable to evolving business needs and support operational efficiency.
- Workforce Planning & Talent Acquisition: Manage recruitment efforts for manufacturing roles, including hourly, skilled trades, and supervisory positions. Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure a smooth process from job posting to candidate selection. Focus on attracting high-quality talent to meet the plant’s growth and operational needs.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure HR practices comply with all local, state, and federal employment laws and safety regulations. Work closely with the EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) team to enforce safety protocols and support initiatives aimed at maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
- Training & Development: Collaborate with plant leadership to assess training needs and develop programs for continuous learning and skills development. Lead initiatives such as leadership training, safety programs, and skills development for production teams. Focus on upskilling and career development to support long-term retention.
- Performance Management: Manage the performance management process, helping managers set clear goals, conduct performance evaluations, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback. Support efforts to address performance gaps and improve employee productivity.
- Compensation & Benefits: Administer compensation and benefits programs in collaboration with corporate HR. Provide guidance on compensation strategies to ensure competitiveness in the labor market, and support employees in understanding and maximizing their benefits offerings.
- HR Reporting & Metrics: Track key HR metrics and prepare regular reports for plant leadership. Use data to recommend improvements in areas such as workforce productivity, engagement, and safety.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 5 years of HR experience in a manufacturing, distribution or industrial environment.
- Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to build strong relationships with leadership and influence decision-making at all levels. Capable of balancing day-to-day operational needs with long-term strategic goals.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with the ability to adapt to changes quickly and manage competing priorities.
Salary : $125,000 - $145,000
