Job Overview
We are seeking a Sr. Staff Accountant & Payroll Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the accounting & financial operations of the Company and will be heavily involved in daily payroll, loan reconciliation and bank reconciliation processes which keeps us in good standing with our valued partners and maintains timely financial reporting. This position will be full-time on-site Monday - Friday with hours scheduled between 8 AM - 6 PM reporting directly to the Director of Accounting. Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for daily commission, monthly bonus payroll and semi-monthly payroll processing including:
o Champion compensation plan design configuration.
o Ensure successful data integration between loan origination system and commission &
bonus platform.
o Export commission platform data and import into payroll platform accurately and precisely.
o Track and execute deduction, garnishment and miscellaneous deductions.
o Import timecard and expense management data into payroll.
o Review payroll to account for active employees (including emphasis on hired & terminated employees payroll cycle and corresponding deductions).
o Export payroll data and import into accounting software to offset bank transaction.
Record bulk volume loan-level funding, purchase and warehouse transactions daily.
Reconcile bank accounts daily and prepare monthly bank reconciliations for financial reporting.
Research and resolve bank, funding and purchase reconciliation variances. Identify if problem is related to policies & procedures, systems & technology or personnel for corrective action including training or enhancement.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain correlating schedules whether module-based or supplementary.
Prepare and record journal entries while filing supporting documentation in accordance with Department standards.
Review and analyze general ledger detail for fluctuation and to ensure transactions are recorded properly and in accordance with US GAAP.
Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial period close as assigned.
Assist with annual audit and tax filings as assigned.
Identify and report process, workflow and system & technology improvements.
Respond to customer and employee inquiries in a timely and courteous manner.
Other tasks and duties as assigned by Director of Accounting.
Experience & Education Requirements
Minimum three years of general accounting and payroll experience; five years preferred.
Commission payroll experience preferred, but not required.
Bachelor Degree in Business Administration (Accounting or Finance)
Master’s Degree and/or CPA preferred, but not required
LoanVision, LendingPad, QCommisisons and/or Paycor experience preferred, but not required.
Skills & Abilities
Strong mathematical skills.
Understanding of GAAP.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level including vLookup, Pivot Tables, advanced
formulas, etc. required) and competency in other Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Teams, OneNote, etc.).
Team-oriented, but able to work independently.
Committed work ethic and dependability.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High level of attention to detail and organization.
Structure, workflow and process driven.
Ability to multi-task with precision and thoroughness in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements
Sitting or standing at a computer workstation and viewing monitor(s) for prolonged periods of time.

May occasionally work beyond posted work hours as well as overtime.

Pay: $78,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
