Purpose:

To contribute to and manage the departmental strategy to ensure safe, profitable, and cost-effective processing in line with the business plan. Be responsible for achieving the processing program expectations of safety, quantity, product quality, deadlines, customer services and production costs. To Implement instructions defined by the operations leadership and allocate resources accordingly. The Department Manager is responsible for overseeing the department team, ensuring safe, efficient, and production processes. This role involves planning, development, and leadership to achieve production targets, optimize resource utilization, and maintain compliance with regulatory and ESG standards. Additionally, the department Manager collaborates with the other managers in the operations team to maximize volume processing requirements and manage bottlenecks and capacity constraints. This proactive approach ensures efficient production scheduling, minimizes downtime, and supports timely delivery of products to downstream customers, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction and driving revenue growth.

Accountabilities:

· Strategic Direction & Leadership:

o Aligning to strategic objectives and lead the development of operational strategies that outline how the department will achieve its goals. This includes resource allocation and performance metrics to measure progress and success.

o Develop robust, trusting relationships with key stakeholders and senior leadership, and identify opportunities to improve productivity. You’ll command a strong senior presence and build a team of high performing Supervisors.

o Create Departmental goals, establish priorities, manage resources, and develop coaching concepts and approaches.

o Support department projects progress and results and make management decisions.

o Manage multiple priorities in a face-paced environment with effective communication and thorough follow-through.

o Oversee the Monthly operational activity of the department and to ensure that we provide excellent customer experience.

o Support plant safety, auditing, and training procedures aligned with company certifications and as required by regulatory and compliance requirements.

o Oversee development and development of productions supervisors, staff, and labor team.

o Oversee departmental operational budget and production plan.

o Ensure the safeguarding of goods and equipment.

o Single Point accountability (SPA) for ensuring that procedures and practices are documented, reviewed, and maintained in accordance with certifications.

· Continuous Improvement, innovation, and sustainable growth

o Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging continuous improvement, and championing transformational projects to drive operational excellence.

o Adhere to working cost targets and constraints.

o Accountable for the performance of the department - monitoring key performance indicators, evaluating performance against targets, and taking corrective actions as needed to ensure the achievement of deliverables.

o Maintain and comply with Safety standards within the department.

o Contribute to the development of new tools, processes and technology which make our teams more efficient and effective.

o Comply with requirements of Management System.

o Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.

o Drive a culture of Learning and Continuous Improvement within the specific Operation to ensure achievement of organizational objectives and safety.

· Stakeholder Relations and Engagement

o Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the organization, internally/externally at all levels and cross functionally.

o Regularly communicate performance trends and improvements to senior management and leadership

o Provides leadership in terms of strategic integration and alignment of the company culture by conducting regular engagements with teams.

o Provide guidance and support to engineering/facilities teams.

· People Management & Safety

o Develop a high-performing team, empowering the team, providing coaching and mentorship, and creating opportunities for professional growth and development.

o Manage individual performance as well as potential and growth opportunity, organization structures and job descriptions as required.

o Manage and improve team and staff morale.

o Mentor individuals to enhance the individual`s knowledge, skills, values, and attitude.

o Create opportunities for development through participation and involvement in new business or technology enhancement projects for team members.

o Provide coaching to team members on an ongoing basis.

o Drive the role of the Group Minimum Standards in your team.

o Ensure comprehensive safety protocols are met, conduct regular safety training, and promote a culture of safety awareness.

o Drive a culture of energized and engaged leadership.

o Ensure alignment to Group ESG standard is in your department.

o Ensure sustainable practices to minimize the department footprint. This involves adhering to environmental regulations, reducing emissions, conserving resources, and implementing eco-friendly technologies.

o Promote transparent communication to build trust with stakeholders, demonstrate accountability, and facilitate informed decision-making.

Minimum Requirements:

· Qualifications:

o A bachelor’s degree or a strong degree of operational experience in a similar role/ Degree in Engineering or Business Management from a recognized institution preferred. Equivalent operational experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.

o Experience in business and data analytics, Excel and SQL is a plus

· Experience:

o At least 5 years’ experience in a related role in a manufacturing or processing facility, of which 2 years should have been at a management level or experience.

o Lean Manufacturing is a plus.

· Legal:

o Be a US Citizen, US permanent resident, or Classified as a protected person.

o Medically fit to work in the business area.

o Successfully clear security screening record including a 7-year criminal record search free of theft or fraud related offenses.

o Successfully clear 10 panel pre-employment drug screening

Compliance: Be a US Citizen, US permanent resident, or Classified as a protected person. This position necessitates strict adherence to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliance. Candidates must meet ITAR requirements to be considered for this role and compliance with the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) program.
