Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will assist pharmacists in the routine functions of pharmacy practice, ensuring the quality and safety of patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Screen and direct calls, take/forward messages, and relay information accurately
- Retrive and distribute inter-office/external mail, faxes, and messages
- Admit patients into the computer system and create a patient chart
- Utilize a computer system for entering and maintaining patient demographic, medical, and insurance information
- Enter patient medication orders into the pharmacy computer system
- Research patient information needed for calling insurance companies to check eligibility and benefits of patients
- Process third-party billing and reconciliation
- Adhere to all policy and procedures related to narcotic documentation, distribution, and record keeping
- Packaging medication and supplies, coordinating courier delivery of packages daily
- Assist in placing, receiving, and processing drug and supply orders and returns
- Assist in inventory control and screening stock for outdates
- Organize and maintain the cleanliness of the department
- Use of a cash register and ability to balance the cash drawer at end of day
- Prepare bank deposit
- May require travel to other CWH pharmacy locations
- Attend meetings as required
- Perform other activities/responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the pharmacy department
- Communicate positively and effectively in a team approach with co-workers within and outside the department
- Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
- Other Duties as assigned
