Role: SQL DBA Lead

We are seeking an experienced SQL DBA Leader to manage and optimize SQL Server databases across on-premise and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will lead a team of database professionals, implement scalable solutions, and ensure high availability, security, and performance for critical systems. Expertise in cloud platforms and database migration is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of SQL Server databases across on-premise and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.).
- Plan and execute database migrations to cloud environments.
- Oversee database performance tuning, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Implement and manage high-availability solutions, including clustering, replication, and Always On Availability Groups.
- Develop and enforce database security policies and ensure compliance with standards.
- Monitor database health and proactively address performance bottlenecks.
- Automate database management tasks using tools and scripting (T-SQL, PowerShell, etc.).
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to design and deliver scalable database solutions.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the database administration team.
- Stay updated with cloud advancements and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in SQL Server database administration, including high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) and database migration strategies.
- Proficiency in automation tools and scripting (T-SQL, PowerShell, Python).
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Strong understanding of database security, compliance, and monitoring tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred:
- 8 years of SQL DBA experience, with 3 years in a leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Database Administrator, AWS Certified Database)
