The Role:  

Congo Brands is seeking a creative, results-driven Copywriter to craft engaging, impactful, and brand-aligned content. The Copywriter will collaborate with key members of our creative team to drive brand awareness, engagement, and conversions through compelling copy.  

This role is on-site in Louisville, KY.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Develop attention grabbing and on-brand short-form copy for various platforms including social media; create presentation decks to sell your ideas.
• Tailor content to resonate with our target audiences, while adhering to brand tone and voice guidelines.
• Collaborate with creative team to brainstorm campaign concepts, captions, hashtags, and headlines that align with campaign objectives. Remain consistent in delivering ideas, including platform/big ideas.
• Flex the tone of voice and tailor it to different brands and projects.
• Stay updated on social media trends, algorithms, and platform-specific best practices to optimize engagement and reach.
• Work closely with designers to ensure synergy between visual elements and copy.
• Edit and refine copy to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality or creativity.
• Manage multiple projects at once, prioritizing workflow with the ability to work under pressure when needed. 

Key Skills and Experience Preferred: 

• 3 years of experience as a copywriter, with experience in the creative services industry.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to take critiques and direction well.
• Proven ability to create engaging content that drives audience interaction and supports marketing goals.
• Knowledge of social media platforms, algorithms, and content formats (i.e. – Reels, Stories, carousels). Knowledge of SEO best practices for social media.
• Basic understanding of graphic design principles or experience using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to present to senior leadership and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Portfolio showcasing a range of short-form social media content.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• A passion for storytelling and connecting with audiences through creative copy.
