The Role

The main priority of the Senior Distribution Partner Manager is to strategically manage and drive the initiatives set by Congo Brands leadership. This role involves influencing selling strategies with distribution partners, driving accountability, and leading a team of Distributor Partner Managers. The Senior Distribution Partner Manager is responsible for achieving sales volume and distribution goals for the Congo Brands portfolio within their assigned accounts, while also planning and executing strategies to maximize growth, strengthen key relationships with senior leadership and ownership of distributor partners, and ensure alignment across the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead market strategy development by using data & market driven insights to create, sell and gain alignment with senior distribution leadership on key initiatives that drive Congo brands growth within the market.
  • Drive accountability with distribution partners, ensuring goal alignment and addressing challenges to meet sales and distribution targets.
  • Identify ways to ensure Congo messaging and strategies are being understood and acted on, through all levels of larger, multi-layered distribution partners.
  • Lead the annual Business Planning process with Distributor Partners to align on the key strategic focus areas that are essential for Congo brands success in that market.
  • Lead and develop a team of Distributor Partner Managers, providing guidance and strategic direction to align with company goals and drive successful execution.
  • Utilize your team of Distribution Partner Managers to amplify our influence and success both within our distributors and across the marketplace.
  • Conduct regular, organized planning review meetings to ensure distributors are properly informed of all Congo initiatives, and track progress against quantitative targets and KPIs.
  • Participate in Distributor Partner sales meetings to drive messaging on Congo initiatives
  • Conduct regularly scheduled market visits to evaluate in-store conditions, create and share formal recaps and develop action plans to address opportunities with distribution leadership
  • Focus on driving volume growth, product availability, in-stock conditions and in-store execution within key accounts of Distributor Partners.
  • Activate the marketing mix by engaging the DP sales force and leveraging local and regional events.

Key Skills and Experience Required

  • 7 years demonstrated experience working within Consumer-Packaged Goods industry
  • 3 years’ experience leading sales teams
  • Proven experience leading teams, providing strategic direction and fostering collaboration to achieve goals
  • Ability to develop, sell and align on strategic initiatives with senior distribution management using data insight inspired presentations.
  • Experience within a Direct Store Delivery distribution environment
  • Proficient with CPG Distribution Management including inventory management, pricing, negotiations, incentives, key account programming and other related activities.
  • Influential selling with key stakeholders, including executive leadership teams
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth
  • Ability to analyze market trends and use data to inform sales strategies
  • Familiarity with retail distribution channels

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Travel

  • 40-60%
  • This position requires a clean driving record and authorization to obtain your Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) upon receiving and accepting a job offer.
  • Valid driver’s license is required
