What will be expected of you:
- Performing all Job Duties required of a Banquet Server
- Supervising all Banquet team members professionally and effectively
- Effectively creating department schedules to ensure efficient service
- Verbally communicating in a calm, positive manner during the event with the Culinary, Catering Sales Team, and host and banquet staff to ensure the timely execution of events.
- Preparing banquet recaps with accuracy for accounting purposes
- Acknowledging all guests and responding promptly to their needs, however busy and whatever time of day
- Controlling the quality of all food served
- Meticulously plans events by consulting with the Catering Sales Team to ensure execution is achieved at the highest level
- Maintains constant communication with the banquet team and guests. Is the on-site contact to ensure all expectations are met and or exceeded.
- Conducts interviews, carefully outlining the functions of the position for which a potential colleague is being interviewed
- Conducts regular meetings with the Catering Director and Catering Team to continuously evaluate strategies and ideas for enhancements to benefit the guest experience
- Projects the vision of the department and measures progress
- Review scheduling and labor needs to meet the needs of the members/guests, as well as maximize efficiency
- Conducts regular staff meetings, pre-shift and post-shift meetings to build rapport and ensure staff are well-informed
- Schedules and supplies the Banquet Housemen with important information regarding every event that requires an event order.
- Ordering and receiving banquet supplies
- Consistently conducting department line-ups and doing the daily check-in
- Conducting monthly inventory
How do we determine your qualifications?
- 3 years of demonstrated hotel banquet experience preferred
- Demonstrated supervisory experience
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Availability during peak operating times, ie, Weekends, Holidays, and Special Events
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
- Ability to lift/transport at least 50 pounds
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management and organization skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Sound leadership and managerial skills
- Ability to work effectively in stressful, high-pressure situations while maintaining composure and guest satisfaction
- Previous serving experience preferred
