What Will Be Expected Of You
- Prepare, mix, and bake all pastry dishes, including, but not limited to pastry cream, almond macaroons, key lime pie, creme caramel, creme brulee, rum buns, pie dough, chocolate and almond cream pies, sugar dough, and glass paste cookies.
- Develop and execute seasonal dessert menus, ensuring consistency and adherence to the Club's standards.
- Assist in preparing and setting up food displays for banquets and catering.
- Assist in preparing plates for the Banquet Department.
- Train, mentor, and supervise pastry team members, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Manage inventory and ordering for pastry ingredients and supplies, ensuring cost control and minimal waste.
- Stay current with pastry trends, techniques, and industry best practices to continually elevate the pastry program.
- A flexible work schedule is expected, including working holidays, weekends, and special member events.
- A passion for pastry arts and a commitment to excellence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a pastry or baking role, with previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Formal culinary or pastry education is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Creativity and an eye for detail in dessert presentation and design.
- Knowledge of various pastry techniques, including bread making, chocolate work, sugar art, and cake decorating.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to inspire and guide the pastry team.
