Job Description
Conklin Automotive Group is seeking a skilled Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in our centralized business office in Hutchinson. The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing all invoices received and payments to all creditors in an accurate, efficient and timely manner for our three locations.
The ideal candidate has the ability to be an effective team member and displays initiative. They possess excellent organizational and analytical skills and are able to adapt quickly to change.
Responsibilities:
- Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
- Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos.
- Verifies and investigates discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
- Maintains vendor files and data within multiple databases.
- Process payment requests from all departments within the company.
- Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and preparing checks.
- Cross-trains with others to handle daily responsibilities when necessary.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong organizational skills, able to multitask, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- An eye for detail and accuracy is imperative.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle multiple tasks without losing focus.
- The ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Helpful attitude and friendly demeanor.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Excel and vendor database management.
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- An associate’s degree in accounting or related work experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of the industry is a plus.
