Summary
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Estimation Engineer to join our team in Pewaukee. This role focuses on estimating costs for tubing fabrication projects.
Responsibilities
Cost Estimation:
- Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Calculate labor, materials, tooling, and overhead costs for manufacturing projects.
- Provide cost breakdowns and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
Process Evaluation:
- Assess manufacturing processes to determine efficiency and suggest improvements.
- Evaluate tooling, equipment, and technology requirements for production.
Collaboration:
- Work with design and engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of products.
- Partner with procurement to source materials and evaluate supplier costs.
Proposal Preparation:
- Develop and present cost estimation reports for internal and external customers.
- Support the sales team by providing cost data for customer proposals.
Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor actual production costs and compare them to estimates, identifying discrepancies and suggesting improvements.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in manufacturing.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering is preferred.
- 5 years of manufacturing/fabrication estimating experience required.
- Tubing experience required.
- Laser fabrication experience would be very ideal but not required.
- Strong communication is required. Must be able to talk with the customer and the shop.
Salary : $75,000 - $95,000
