Job Description:

• Provide oncology nursing care to patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other cancer treatments.
• Administer infusion therapies, including chemotherapy, blood products, and biologic agents.
• Monitor vital signs and manage potential adverse reactions during infusion treatments.
• Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to create individualized treatment plans for patients.
• Educate patients and families about cancer treatments, potential side effects, and self-care techniques.
• Document all assessments, treatments, and patient progress accurately in the EMR system.
• Ensure the safe administration of medications and infusions while following infection control protocols.
• Provide emotional support to patients and their families, addressing concerns and helping them navigate their cancer treatment journey.
• Assist with the management of side effects from treatments, offering interventions to improve patient comfort and quality of life.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available for patient care.
• Collaborate with the oncology care team to ensure continuity of care and follow-up.
  
  

Education & Certification Requirements:

• Active RN license required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred, or willingness to obtain.
• Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification preferred.
• Infusion therapy experience required, including chemotherapy and other related treatments.
• Experience in oncology nursing and familiarity with cancer treatments preferred.
  
  

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of oncology/infusion nursing experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
• Strong understanding of chemotherapy protocols, side effect management, and patient care during cancer treatment.
• Ability to work independently and provide patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Excellent communication skills to educate patients and families and collaborate with the oncology care team.
• Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care, especially in the context of oncology and infusion therapy.
