Description

Make a Difference as a Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant!

Do you love animals and dream of a career where you can truly make an impact? Are you passionate about helping pets get the care they need, no matter their family’s circumstances? If so, the Connecticut Humane Society’s Fox Memorial Clinic might just be the place for you!

We’re looking for someone who wants to be part of a mission-driven team that provides quality, financially friendly veterinary care to pets who need it most. In this position, you’ll work side-by-side with experienced veterinarians, technicians and receptionists, gaining hands-on experience while helping to make a difference every single day.

What You’ll Do:

  • Primary support for the clinic reception desk – answering incoming calls and text messages, checks messages, greets and help all visitors/volunteers, and process paperwork as needed.
  • Maintain appointment calendar: update cancellations, fill openings as needed and confirm all scheduled appointments on a daily basis
  • Ensure deposits are taken and applied to the client account.  Process all invoicing at the close of each appointment.  Enter estimate information into system as needed. Process all payments and close out and balance the drawer each day.
  • Help care for our patients by taking histories, giving medications, and supporting our veterinary team during appointments and treatments.
  • Keep an eye on the animals in our care, ensuring they’re comfortable, safe, and healthy.
  • Maintain accurate medical records (don’t worry—we’ll train you!) and learn to use our Cornerstone and PetPoint systems.
  • Pitch in with keeping our clinic clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.
  • Be a friendly face and helping hand for pet parents, whether it’s supporting them during appointments or answering their questions at the front desk.
  • Help out in reception by scheduling appointments, checking clients in and out, and making sure every pet parent feels welcome and supported.

What We’re Looking For:

If you’re someone who:

  • Has a big heart for animals and wants to learn more about veterinary care,
  • Enjoys working with people and helping them through sometimes stressful moments,
  • Is ready to jump in, help wherever needed, and be part of a small but mighty team,
  • Values compassion, teamwork, communication, and making a difference,
  • And wants to grow their skills in a supportive, mission-driven environment...

We’d love to meet you!
