Position Summary:
The Athletic Coordinator supports a host of services to enhance, build, and continue to grow a robust Athletic program at CT State Gateway in conjunction with other CT State locations where appropriate (CT State Tournaments, etc.) The Athletic Coordinator will also continue to nurture internal and external relationships with various stakeholders to create or continue to provide athletic opportunities for CT State students, such as intramural participation from our students at Southern Connecticut State University for example. The position will also be responsible for coordinating all efforts for our Basketball Program’s participation and compliance with NJCAA (National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association) regulations, this includes but is not limited to arranging study hall, tutoring, meal allocations, transportation, medical clearance and more. The Athletic Coordinator will also assist with the efforts of the Student Activities Office when possible.

- Safeguarding the participation of students through the attainment of medical examination proof from healthcare providers (physical exams, so forth)
- Creation and management of CT State Athletics Advisory Board
- Constant review of NJCAA Handbook
- Mandatory attendance to quarterly Region 21 meetings
- Conducting all administrative tasks associated with the role such as drafting reports, responding to emails, managing NJCAA portal, Arbiter Sports Officiating Software, meal allocations, transportation, scheduling of facilities, schedule building, contract management, and some marketing
- Support of Student Activities, Commencement, and major school-wide events as needed
