What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Manager position at Connecticut State Dental Association - CSDA?
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our non-profit, membership association. In this role, you will handle key accounting functions, including managing accounts payable and receivable, payroll, journal entries, cash control, and monthly bank reconciliations. You will ensure that all financial activities comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and provide internal reporting and analysis of monthly financial statements. You will also serve as the main contact for our CPA firm during the annual audit and review process. Experience with QuickBooks is required, and familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
College degree with experience in accounting or finance. Degree requirements can be substituted with equivalent practical experience. Experience with associations or other non profit entities.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficient with MS Excel and QuickBooks.
- Understanding of US GAAP
- Demonstrated understanding of financial systems, data, financial controls and financial reports.
- Experience preparing financial reports.
- Able to work in a cooperative and supportive manner in all dealings with other staff members, Association members, and all business contacts.
- Well organized and strong detail oriented, with good problem-solving skills.
- Good writing and interpersonal communication skills required.
