Position Summary Under general supervision of Department Supervisor, locate, read, re-read, record, and report the reading of water meters and report related field conditions as necessary for billing.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities :
- Remove minor obstructions as necessary, locate and read meter, enter meter reads, trouble codes and other data as required into the hand held meter reading devices.
- Make contact with customers or leave door hangers asneeded when meters are inaccessible.
- Report illegal or unusual services, meters or meter boxconditions, stuck meters, discrepancies or safety hazards.
- Report any active meters not having a meter record.
- Perform work as required related to route maintenance.
- Notifies customer and Station F in cases where meterregistrations exceed 90 gallons per hour.
- Operates mobile meter reading technology and equipment.
