School Summary
South Carolina Connections Academy (SCCA) is a tuition-free, K–12 online public school. The school was launched in 2008–09 under contract to the South Carolina Connections Academy Charter School. SCCA is South Carolina’s very first virtual charter school, authorized by the Erskine Charter School District. The school serves students in grades K–12 from anywhere in South Carolina.
Position Summary and Responsibilities
Working from the office in Columbia, SC, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for tasks such as communicating with and problem solving for various stakeholders such as students, families, teachers, administrators, other educational institutions and government agencies. Aside from this, the Administrative Assistant is expected to develop expertise and create procedures and initiatives in their assigned department/ area to further the goal of consistently high quality service in providing Learning for All.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with stakeholders via phone, email, and the educational management system;
- Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations, requirements, and deadlines;
- Enter data into the online student information system;
- Generate and analyze reports;
- Assist in organizing and implementing some of the school’s student engagement initiatives/ events;
- Proctor AP testing as required
- Other duties as assigned including but not limited to mailing projects
Requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and web-based applications is essential
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
- Good interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
