Position Summary
The Community Outreach Specialist will play a critical role in recruiting and marketing psychiatric rehabilitation services to potential clients. This position requires a motivated, community-oriented professional who can build strong connections, establish partnerships, and engage individuals needing support. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of local resources, a strong ability to foster relationships, and a passion for improving mental health outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Client Recruitment: Proactively identify and engage potential clients for psychiatric rehabilitation services through direct outreach, presentations, and referrals.
- Community Engagement: Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including community programs, schools, healthcare providers, and local government agencies, to generate referrals and build trust.
- Strategic Partnerships: Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with organizations that share a commitment to mental health advocacy and rehabilitation services.
- Marketing and Promotion: Represent Connections That Matter, Inc. at community events, health fairs, and outreach initiatives to promote awareness of available services.
- Resource Navigation: Utilize knowledge of community resources to connect potential clients to appropriate programs and support systems.
- Building Rapport: Engage potential clients and their families with empathy, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity to build trust and ensure a seamless connection to services.
- Data Tracking and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, client interactions, and referral sources to measure impact and effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Background in Social Work, Human Services, Marketing, Psychology, or a related field (preferred). Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in outreach, recruitment, client engagement, or community-based work.
- Established connections and networks within local communities, schools, healthcare providers, and/or government entities.
- Experience working with individuals with mental health needs or underserved populations is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to maintain accurate data records.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel to outreach sites as needed.
