Job Description: High School Principal (Hybrid)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a visionary and results-driven High School Principal to lead our school in Washington, DC. The Principal will be responsible for fostering a high-achieving, student-centered culture that prioritizes equity, academic excellence, and community engagement. As a key instructional and cultural leader, the Principal will oversee school operations, support faculty and staff, and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities:School Leadership & Vision:
- Develop and execute a strategic vision for academic success and student growth.
- Foster a school culture that promotes high expectations, accountability, and inclusivity.
- Lead efforts to create a safe, supportive, and equitable learning environment.
- Oversee the implementation of school policies, curriculum, and professional development to ensure student success.
Instructional Leadership:
- Support and evaluate teachers to enhance instructional quality and student outcomes.
- Use data-driven decision-making to identify areas for academic improvement and drive instructional strategies.
- Promote innovative teaching practices that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Ensure alignment of curriculum and assessment with state and national standards.
Student Culture & Behavior Management:
- Establish and reinforce a positive school culture rooted in respect, responsibility, and achievement.
- Implement restorative justice practices and behavior intervention strategies to support student development.
- Collaborate with staff to address student needs, ensuring a holistic approach to education and discipline.
Family & Community Engagement:
- Build strong partnerships with families, community organizations, and stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, school initiatives, and engagement opportunities.
- Foster a school environment that encourages family and community involvement in student success.
Operational & Administrative Leadership:
- Manage school operations, including budgeting, scheduling, and compliance with district and charter regulations.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-quality educators and staff.
- Lead professional development initiatives to ensure ongoing staff growth and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a secondary education setting.
- Proven track record of improving student achievement and school performance.
- Deep commitment to educational equity and serving diverse student populations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff, students, and families.
- Experience with restorative practices, behavior management, and instructional leadership is highly desirable.
