What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) position at Conquest Healthcare Management?
The assistant director of nursing should be an RN or LVN with long term care experience. This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing in overseeing the nursing care provided to residents within our Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), including managing staff, ensuring quality care, and maintaining compliance with regulations; essentially acting as a key leadership role in the nursing department when the DON is not available. Key responsibilities of the ADON may include:
- Staff Supervision: Overseeing and supervising nursing staff, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Clinical Oversight: Monitoring resident care, ensuring proper medication administration, and addressing clinical concerns.
- Quality Assurance: Implementing quality improvement initiatives and monitoring compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
- Incident Reporting: Investigating resident incidents and ensuring proper documentation
- Staff Training: Providing ongoing training and education to nursing staff on clinical procedures and policies
- Communication: Acting as a liaison between nursing staff, medical providers, and other departments
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring the facility adheres to all state and federal regulations related to nursing care
