What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Manager position at Conquest Research?
The Business Development Manager is responsible for working with customers and internal teams to develop and maintain sponsor relationships. This role will conduct business development activities, from lead generation through opportunity close. The Business Development Manager will also promote Conquest Research as a priority site network to participate in clinical research studies to a diverse set of current and prospective sponsors and CROs.
*Open to remote work within the state of FL.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop attractive customer propositions across the range of Clinical Services based on their current and future needs as uncovered during the sales process
- Close and win business from both existing and new customers and business segments
- Track and report progress against assigned objectives weekly to designated management personnel using salesforce.com or other systems/documents as needed
- Timely and consistent updating of information in CRM, or other systems/documents, to ensure information is never more than a week old
- Forecast monthly projected BD wins and business impact based on current pipeline analysis
- Follow up with customers post sale in order to ensure customer satisfaction and appropriately transfer to post-sale customer service and project management teams
- Build, maintain, expand, and grow key customer relationships so that future growth opportunities can be closely aligned with customer requirements
- Capture and document competitive sales tactics and submit relevant expanded service and/or program ideas that could generate new areas of interest for the Clinical Services business
- Capture competitor intelligence in the marketplace and submit into the management team
- Be a subject matter expert and key contributor in submission of Feasibility Questionnaires
- Participate in Site Qualification Visits / Pre-Selection Visits
- Understand and work within key sales and operations processes within Clinical Services
- Host customer visits and represent the company at certain industry conferences
- Represent the company and present a professional image to customers to supply an outstanding image and impression of the company

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPIERENCE, AND CERITIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent/applicable experience required
- 2 years of Business Development experience, with preference given to those with clinical trials and logistics experience and a clinical background and/or having worked in a CRO, sponsor or a similar service environment
- Microsoft Office, specifically Teams with preference for experience in Salesforce
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Conducting market research to identify new potential sponsors and study leads
- The ability to manage leads generated from engagement with past, present, and future clients, then qualifying a lead and converting to a study award
- Contacting potential sponsors and leads via phone, email, or other communication channels to introduce the company’s services
- Creating and delivering sales presentations / company introductions to prospective sponsors
- Answering inquiries and providing information about the company’s services
- Obtaining RFPs and facilitating the completion of Feasibility Questionnaires
- Collaborating to develop and implement business development strategies
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer information in the company’s CRM or equivalent system
- Meeting or exceeding study award and new sponsor contact targets and goals
- Collate, log in CRM or equivalent, and follow up on incoming from external BD references
- Retrieve relevant information from protocol to present to clinical team
- Filter studies to appropriate PI based on indication
- Collaborate with clinical operations team regarding trial opportunities
- Liaison of necessary awarded trial information to Regulatory, Contracts and Clinical team(s)
- Document trial milestones within set time parameters within sales tracking tool
- Provide weekly/biweekly sales activity updates to management team
- Attend conferences within the industry to identify new business
- Develop a strong understanding of site capabilities to present to potential sponsors and leads
