What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Football Coach/Campus Athletic Director position at Conroe Independent School District?
Direct and manage the overall athletic program for the high school and junior high feeder schools. Work to provide each student with the opportunity to participate in an extracurricular athletic activity and ensure compliance with all state, University Interscholastic League (UIL), and local requirements.
- Thorough knowledge of and responsibility for implementing approved athletic policy and program.
- Establish district fundamental athletic philosophy on campus and feeder school campuses.
- Design conferences, clinics, staff meetings and establish a line of communication.
- Primary evaluator of all coaches and all athletic programs. Must attend and supervise athletic events.
- Ability to constructively deal with conflict and develop consensus.
- Assist in developing schedules for all sports, arranging for transportation, documenting for UIL and local requirements and coordinating facilities usage/maintenance.
- Provide student athletes training rules/regulations, monitoring grades/conduct, and administering sound judgment in discipline evaluation. Provide leadership so that all athletes are outstanding students and exceptional citizens.
- Assist in preparation and administration of annual budget for campus and feeder school campuses.
- Responsible for the care and inventory of all athletic equipment, etc.
- Organize parents, coaches, players, and guests for pre-season meetings.
- Effectively work with parent/booster clubs.
- Develop a positive public relations program designed to keep patrons informed as to the accomplishment of the athletic program.
- Regular attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Head football coaching experience, coordinator at a 5A or 6A Program, or currently employed by Conroe ISD as a football coach
- Able to document experience in developing and sustaining feeder programs from grade seven and above
- Able to document experience in developing and sustaining a sub varsity program at the high school level
- Able to document experience in developing and sustaining a weight training and strength development program at the high school level
- Able to document experience in developing and sustaining a conditioning program at the high school level
- Able to document experience in developing and sustaining an academic plan that will substantially reduce the failure rate of all athletes
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent district travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
