What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Records Clerk position at Conroe Independent School District?
To assist in maintaining special education student files/records and to provide information to other school districts or agencies as requested for special education students who have left CISD.
- Management and organization of special education folders.
- Utilize Trex systems for records exchange.
- Maintain inactive files of student no longer receiving special education services.
- Process requests for records from other agencies/districts.
- Work cooperatively with other records clerks assigned to the records room.
- Organization of space and equipment needed to maintain special education student records.
- Assist in planning for expansion needs involving space, storage facilities, equipment and materials for student records.
- Attendance at the Region IV SEMS meetings two to three times yearly as requested by the Special Education Coordinator.
- Other staff development opportunities both within CISD and outside the district which relate to the skills and/or job responsibilities of the records clerk.
- The records clerk will maintain cooperative and courteous relationships with co-workers, administrators, educational diagnosticians, parents, and outside professionals with whom they may come in contact in organizing and maintaining special education student records.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Regular attendance.
- Perform other jobs and duties as assigned.
- Two years office experience using the typewriter and computer
- Experience working in records, attendance accounting, or pupil services
Education/Certification:
- High School diploma or GED
- Paraprofessional Certificate from TEA
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Competency in using the typewriter and computer
- Good organizational and planning skills
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environment Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional district travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
