You will be working closely with the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, a renowned institution in the field of forest management. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the Sitgreaves Zone in implementing Great American Outdoors Act Funding designated to reduce deferred maintenance on non-motorized trails across the zone.
As a Trail Project Manager Resource Assistant, your tasks will include:
- Conducting surveys of trails within the project scope and documenting needs for maintenance
- Developing a plan for trail work and guiding Conservation Corp crews to complete the identified work
- Identifying and marking trail routes where no tread exists utilizing GIS and mapping information, then marking these routes ahead of Conservation Crews
