The school provides professional development integrated into the schedule every Wednesday, as well as daily opportunities to meet and plan with colleagues.
The CLCS building substitute is a teacher with excellent classroom management skills. The ideal candidate has a unique appreciation for students across the grade levels. The building substitute must be flexible and able to adapt to working in different classrooms and grade levels. The ideal candidate will utilize the school wide management systems consistently across classrooms to ensure a supportive learning environment for all students. The ideal candidate is flexible and can adjust to the changing demands during the SY20-21 school year. The candidate should be comfortable in the classroom and able to adapt to a remote learning environment as necessary. The candidate should be proficient working with technology and familiar with some online teaching tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage classroom assigned as substitute
- Maintain regular communication with Director of School Culture and Building Management regarding the daily schedule
- Implement lesson plans
- Incorporate direct instruction, small group work, projects, and cooperative learning to engage all students
- Maintain communication with classroom teachers regarding lesson plans, student progress and routines
- Nurture, maintain, and communicate high academic expectations for all students
- Work in collaboration with grade level team and support staff to problem solve and identify innovative, practical, and effective differentiation strategies to meet student learning needs and close achievement gaps by linking assessment to instruction;
- Articulate school culture, vision, and mission to students and parents;
- Share responsibility for celebrating grade level and school-wide activities;
- Comfortable using various types of technology including but not limited to the Google suite, academic platforms, projectors, and video conferencing.
