The Opportunity:
The role of the Building Substitute is to provide a quality educational experience for scholars in the absence of their teacher(s), while supporting the school administration on-site during in-person learning. This job entails many duties, which include but are not limited to the following,
Building Substitute Job Duties:
- Follow teacher lesson plan and provide quality instruction and supervision.
- Assist in classrooms when not assigned to substitute and when time permits
- Monitor the scholars during breakfast, lunch and recess.
- As needed, supervise In-School Suspension with SSL and assist scholars with class work as necessary.
- Provide information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing tasks as needed.
- Assist with scholar arrival, transition, and dismissal times.
- Assist with the organization and administration of standardized testing program
- Light administrative support duties as needed
- Other related duties and tasks as directed by Head of School or Asst. Principal.
