Key Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting operational functions.
- Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
- Complete monthly bank account reconciliations.
- Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements.
- Coordinate activities with external auditors.
- Provide management with information vital to decision-making processes.
- Evaluate accounting and internal control systems.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting databases, as needed.
- Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance.
- Hire, train, and retain skilled accounting staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Possess strong finance-based analytical skills.
- 7-10 years of finance experience, with a minimum of three years in a leadership role.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
- Experience in a senior financial role at a mortgage company, insurance company, bank, financial services company, or credit union is strongly preferred.
