Consolidated Business Services (CBS) has a full-time opening for a Field Operations Managerworking in the Oregon Willamette Valley service(s) area.

The Field Operations Manager is responsible for the supervision of field operations personnel for multiple CBS partner companies and all daily activities with installations, troubles, and plant facilities maintenance. These services involve travel to various partner locations.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for the overall successful management and leadership of the Network and OSP staff including selection, training and development, performance management, appraisals, coaching, and wage actions to ensure company objectives are met for CBS partnered companies.
· Assist in preparing and managing OPEX and CAPEX budgets as it pertains to CBS partnered companies assigned to this position.
· Responsible for coordination and scheduling of the daily workloads of Network and Splicing Technicians, facility locating and partnered contractor staff.
· Responsible for guidance and support on demand for staff, answering questions, providing coaching and monitoring for quality customer care. Handle customer complaints and escalate issues to Director of Plant & Field Operations as needed.
· Act in the capacity of the Director of Plant & Field Operations if they are unavailable.
· Responsible for personnel and partner contractors, splicing, installing, and repairing plant facilities, including after hours, including copper and fiber optic cable in both underground and aerial environments, and in CO/remotes, CEVs, pedestals, and building terminals.
· Oversee and perform troubleshooting and repair of outside plant facilities including copper, coaxial, fiber optic cables, wireless, enclosures, terminations, and protection devices in both aerial and underground plant.
· Ensure compliance with all company, industry, and mandated safety practices. Assist with required safety inspections and reporting as required.
· Perform administrative duties with weekly/monthly reports, submit and approve timesheet reports, equipment change-outs, time and material invoicing and all other forms.
· Assist in leading the continuous IP knowledge and professional development of Field Operations Supervisors, Technicians and Splicers for current and future technologies.
· Support company culture initiatives.
· Perform other job duties and responsibilities as required to fulfill job functions or as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years’ prior telecommunications experience and demonstrated competence in outside plant operations and or field operations.
· High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
· Must possess a strong knowledge and understanding of outside plant networks; fiber network architectures, TDM voice, VoIP internet.
· Previous experience in preparing and managing expense and capital budgets and construction projects in telecommunications outside plant, as well as a basic understanding of Part 32 and Part 64 as they apply to outside plant construction.
· Must possess good understanding of xDSL technologies, Wi-Fi, and special access Circuits. Proven experience understanding design and telephony color codes.
· Ability to learn about the products and services offered by the company, how they function and what is required to make the service work.
· Demonstrated ability to work from oral and written instructions and make decisions under limited supervision.
· Prior supervisory experience required in one or more of the following areas: Central Office, Plant Engineering, and Outside Plant.
