Overview
The Entry Level Associate (EP) will participate in supporting the Electric Long Range Plan Section of Strategic Planning. This role includes analyzing long-range electric industry trends, identifying areas for strategic alignment, analyzing large data sets, and creating software solutions to improve visibility and insight to electric, gas, and steam energy systems. The preferred candidate should be a proactive problem solver with an interest in technology.This position is needed to keep current with local, state, and federal dynamic energy policies to assist in developing, processing, manipulating, and analyzing large data sets to extract and organize business and decarbonization strategies to enable a clean energy transition.Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities- Monitor and analyze industry / energy trends including technology, regulatory and policy, and customer behavior and evaluate the performance and prospects of existing and potential businesses.
- Evaluate business and decarbonization strategies to enable a clean energy transition.
- Develop and maintain software applications to support business functions.
- Interface with Strategic Planning, Customer Energy Solutions, and Corporate Affair Organizations.
- Interface with Electric, Gas & Steam Forecasting and load relief planning organizations.
- Review EE, EV, EoH, DG, and PV Load Modifier Peak and Volume Forecasts
- Experience in processing, manipulating, and analyzing large data sets to extract and organize information in a clear and comprehensive manner.
- Perform Emergency/Storm Duty as needed. Fieldwork and traveling on nights, weekends, or holidays required.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience- Bachelor's Degree Business, Finance or Technical
- At least 1 year of work experience. Candidates who have participated in the companys full-time college cooperative or summer cooperative internships for a minimum of six months meet the experience requirements.
- At least one year or participated in the companys full-time college cooperative or summer cooperative internships for a minimum of six months. Some energy/utility/Con Edison experience, required.
- At least one year or participated in the companys full-time college cooperative or summer cooperative internships for a minimum of six months. Basic knowledge and understanding of electric utility systems and utility financial principles, required.
- At least one year or participated in the companys full-time college cooperative or summer cooperative internships for a minimum of six months. Experience in utilizing data visualization tools like Power BI to create compelling visual representations of strategic planning data, required.
- At least one year or participated in the companys full-time college cooperative or summer cooperative internships for a minimum of six months. Experience in advanced Excel skills, including proficiency with functions, pivot tables, and data modeling tools, required.
- At least 1 year of knowledge and hands-on experience with GIS applications, including ArcGIS Pro, eGIS, Experience Builder, and other tools, to develop and update the GIS Strategic Planning Model Visualization Tool, preferred.
- At least 1 year of knowledge in projecting future electric loads for electrification adoption planning electric models, preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience with updating and maintaining electric models, ensuring integration of the latest data from departments such as, but not limited to Energy Management and Distribution Planning, preferred.
- At least 1 year of knowledge or experience with long-term utility capital planning, preferred.
