Position Summary
Waiteco Machine (WCO), a CMT company, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our Devens, MA location. The Manufacturing Engineer has day-to-day duties that include the development of machining practices, processes, tooling, programming, and fixturing for all jobs throughout the facility. *This position works a schedule of Monday thru Friday from 7:00am-4:00pm. The pay range for this role is between $95,000 - $115,000 per year depending on experience*
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Estimates parts for RFQ's in accordance with company procedures.
- Processes and programs machine parts and fixtures using CAD/CAM software.
- Maintains the "master" program for parts and ensures only the latest program is used for manufacturing.
- Defines raw materials needed for purchasing and submits requisition forms.
- Adjusts production processes to meet quality standards and production schedules with concurrence from Manufacturing and Quality.
- Communicates daily with other shifts and departments regarding quality, workload capacity, safety, staffing, and machine/component issues.
- Maintains equipment awareness, notifying maintenance of items requiring attention.
- Drives product cost improvements using lean manufacturing tools and fosters a culture of continuous improvement.
Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or manufacturing, Trade/Technical school certificate program, or equivalent experience with some college coursework required.
- 5 years of CNC milling experience required.
- 5 years of production machining experience required.
- 5 years of Mastercam experience required.
- Ability to perform calculations related to discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Working knowledge of ANSI/ASME Y14.5M for GD&T
- Experience in or knowledge of all machining practices, tool design, and GD&T.
- Strong knowledge of reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical documents and regulations.
- Proficiency in CNC Programming.
