Position Summary
Murphy Machine Products (MMP), a CMT company, is seeking a Manufacturing Supply Chain Coordinator for our Wood Dale, IL location. The Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the entire materials lifecycle, from customer order to scheduling to procurement and distribution. *This position works a schedule of Monday thru Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm. The pay range for this role is between $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year depending on experience*
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with production and internal teams to address customer inquiries and resolve material-related issues.
- Provide timely updates on order status and delivery schedules.
- Build strong relationships with customers to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand and production capacity constraints.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely material availability.
- Monitor production progress and adjust as needed to optimize resource utilization.
- Manage the purchasing process, including issuing purchase orders, expediting deliveries, and resolving supplier issues.
- Monitor inventory and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
- Forecast future material needs based on demand planning and production schedules.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, inventory optimization, and supply chain improvements.
- Negotiate favorable contracts with vendors to optimize pricing and delivery terms.
Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus, but not required.
- 5 years of experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain roles.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles, including MRP and JIT.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and other relevant software tools. Global Shop Solutions is a plus, but not required.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
- APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
- Experience in the specific CNC industry is beneficial.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software is valuable. Beginner to intermediate skill level in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
