Description: We are looking for an experienced Controller with a strong work ethic. As a Controller, you’ll drive and own the company’s financial status, review budgets and forecasts and manage accounting transactions. To be successful in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), experience in public accounting or a publicly traded company, and the ability to work in a small to large division that is part of a large company.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and directs financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and investment activities
- Management and ownership of financial statements and track financial KPIs
- Assist with acquisition due diligence and integration
- Report on financial status on a regular basis and create ad-hoc reports when needed
- Advises management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.
- Develops internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting.
- Analysis of the financial details of past, present, and expected operations in order to identify development opportunities and area where improvement is needed.
- Delegates authority and monitors payroll, receivables, payables, and banking.
- Leads staff training and development in budgeting and financial management areas.
- Coordinates organizational policies and procedures, compliance with federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
Key Qualifications & Requirements:
- Work experience as a Controller or similar role in a division that is part of a larger company
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and legislation
- Hands-on experience with general ledger accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Experience with cash management and risk assessment
- Good knowledge of accounting software
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work with tight deadlines
- BSc or MSc in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or CMA preferred
