Expected salary range of $135,000 to $150,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Sr. Technical BDM will lead the transition from the pilot stage to production of new sustainability solutions that are launched through the Commercialization and Development (C&D) group for retail commercialization. The position will work closely with the C&D team to learn details on the new product/technology and its value proposition and then work with the retail sales leaders and BDMs to assist in organizing pilots, as well as build a business case which would include product growth prospects and margin potential. The position will have responsibility to gather and analyze all the data and information from the relevant internal stakeholders, conduct research on the competitive landscape and develop growth prospects and prospect pipeline for the product. This will help retail leadership in making the best go/no go decision on the rollout and launch of the product. The position will also provide the required support to the BDM's during the initial pilots and launch so that the customer is getting timely and ongoing support, and to ensure the customer fulfillment and experience is exemplary to those customers participating in the pilot. This role requires a strategic thinker who can work closely with C&D to help identify pilot customers and then work closely with the BDMs to drive the initial transactions and build a robust sales pipeline that supports scaling the business. The candidate should also have excellent teamwork and communication skills as well as a strong analytics background to gather, track and analyze data and use it to model product growth and scale potential.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Analyze data and other relevant information from internal stakeholders on the products value proposition, market positioning and growth opportunities.
  • Conduct competitive research and put together product launch and scaling strategy for the new products.
  • Assist retail leadership launch plans, margin strategy, risks and resource considerations.
  • Identify pilot customers and work with BDMs and leadership to build a robust pipeline and close deals.
  • Provide necessary support to BDMs during initial pilots and launches to ensure exemplary customer fulfillment and experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four-year degree in a relevant field and 5 years of experience in the energy industry.
  • Proven experience in sales, business development, or commercialization in the retail energy or product solutions space in scaling early-stage solutions to exceed sales targets over time.
  • Proven knowledge in one or more sustainability solutions like analytics, battery storage, fuel cells, energy efficiency etc.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess market dynamics, customer needs, and business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Proven track record in managing complex projects and balancing short-term and long-term goals.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Strong analytics background to gather, track, and analyze data.
  • Experience in fostering relationships across various departments and external partners.
  • Travel required as necessary to meet business needs and in-person attendance for trainings, all-hands meetings, and other moments that matter.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in a relevant field or 5 years of energy industry experience with focus on sustainability.
  • C-Level Sales Experience in Commercial, Industrial or Technology Sectors.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of emerging technologies and market trends, ensuring that strategies are innovative and forward-thinking.

Salary : $135,000 - $150,000
