About the Role
The Initial License Trainee will engage in a combination of classroom instruction, simulator training, and on-the-job experience to acquire the essential skills and knowledge to meet the qualification for a Senior Reactor Operator License holder. This position requires:
- A strong foundation in mathematics and science
- Experience as a licensed operator or supervisor at a comparable facility
- Bachelor's degree (BS) or equivalent in engineering, engineering technology, or physical sciences
- More than 1.5 years as a qualified non-licensed operator or supervisor
Responsibilities
This role involves providing direct oversight of Constellation's Nuclear Power Generating Station operations, directing Reactor Operators in controlling plant operations, authorizing maintenance and testing activities, and implementing Emergency Operating procedures. Additional responsibilities include:
- Oversight of special projects determined by the Operations Director/Operations Managers
- Creation, revision, and review of Emergency Operating Procedures and Abnormal Operating Procedures
- Assistance in developing refueling sequences and ensuring systems can accommodate shutdown and refueling operations
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need to pass the Plant Operator Selection System (POSS) and Basic Math and Science Test (BMST) pre-employment tests, have relevant work experience, and possess the necessary education and qualifications.
