Hospice Volunteer
Constellation Health Services Hospice program is looking for volunteers to visit patients who have terminal illnesses. Make a difference in your community, be part of the hospice team, and have a flexible volunteer schedule. A few hours a week can make a big difference to someone nearing the end of life!
Patient/Family Volunteer Description:
- Provide support for patient/family
- Provide respite for patient caregivers
- Provide companionship to patients
- Run errands for patients or caregivers
- Prepare meals for patients
- Perform light housekeeping
- Read to patients, play music, watch videos, listen to music, crafts, talk, quite companionship
Requirements:
- At least 18 years old.
- Able to commit for one year to our program.
- Able to commit to at least 4 hours per week.
- Ability to listen deeply, interest in and compassion for others, good boundaries and self-care, and meet people where theyre at in energy and tone.
- Online training takes approximately 20 hours and is personally enriching, focusing on personal death awareness and hospice philosophy.
- No close death in the last year
