Hospice Patient Volunteer Job Posting
Constellation Health Services’ Hospice program is looking for compassionate volunteers to provide companionship to patients who have terminal illnesses. Hospice volunteering is very rewarding and makes a true difference to people at end of life.
Volunteers may engage in conversation, read to a patient, look at pictures together, share music, provide a compassionate presence, or other activities. Visit timing is very flexible and adaptable to your schedule.
Requirements:
- At least 18 years old.
- Able to commit for one year to our program.
- Able to commit to at least 2 hours per week.
- Ability to listen deeply, interest in and compassion for others, good boundaries and self-care, and meet people where they’re at in energy and tone.
- Online training takes approximately 15 hours and is personally enriching, focusing on personal death awareness and hospice philosophy.
- No close death in the last year
