Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Scrap Buyer to acquire high-quality scrap materials in the right quantities, suitable for the Ravenswood facility's needs. This role involves collaborating with various departments, including Central Metals Procurement, Ravenswood Management, Operations, Finance, Sales, and Supply Chain to secure the best possible prices and fees for scrap and third-party tolling/processing. Building strong relationships with external suppliers, customers, processors, and tollers is crucial to establish Constellium Ravenswood as a preferred business partner.

- Lead and manage changes related to new metal unit usage (MOC)
- Increase alternative scrap and alloying element usage while ensuring environmental compliance
- Contribute expertise and industry knowledge to develop processes, equipment, techniques, storage, and handling at Ravenswood and satellite facilities
- Visit customers and suppliers to identify and develop new or increased opportunities
- Collaborate on developing onsite and third-party process capabilities to utilize available metal units and alloys
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new industrial processes, technology, and equipment to transform metal units unusable by Ravenswood
- Reduce prime usage, including high-purity grades
- Participate in regular meetings and communications with Plant Teams and Management to ensure cohesion with initiatives and strategic plans
- Improve existing processes to make the plant more competitive, efficient, and profitable
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or extensive experience considered in lieu of formal education
- Minimum 10 years of experience in melt and casting operations required
- Familiarity with metal procurement, charge planning, and execution necessary
- Continuous improvement/Lean training highly desirable
- Awareness of sales, supply chain, and operational interface with metal procurement preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment essential
