What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Manager, Casting position at Constellium?
Primary Purpose:
The Operations Manager provides the necessary leadership to manage all operational aspects of the Casting business unit. This position is responsible for coordinating safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and continuous improvement for the Casting stream.
Key Accountabilities:
- Reports directly to the Casting APU Manager
- Coordinates activities to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly operating results for all production KPI’s
- Ensures the Operations Team’s participation in all EHS processes as they apply to day-to-day activities
- Supports critical safety aspects including hourly employee safety performance & operation of equipment to standard practices for safe operation.
- Supports key process and reliability functions through ownership of critical process input variables.

- Standard Operating Procedure development and execution
- Daily, weekly & monthly standard & performance management routines

- Leads managers and supervisors to maximize operating team performance
- Coordinates daily, weekly, and monthly with Process, Operations, Reliability, & Supply Chain support resources to execute planned and unplanned activities with minimum disruption to daily operations.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Experience in lieu of formal education will be considered in extraordinary circumstances
- 10 years of industry supervisory experience with at least 2-3 years in the aluminum industry specifically
- Lean manufacturing and/or Lean Six Sigma knowledge & experience required
- Strong leadership and communication skills required
- Ability to manage in a union environment while maintaining compliance and productivity
