We are currently in need of a Purchasing Assistant at our facility in Stoughton, Wisconsin capable of supporting a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is a Non-Union and hourly open position with periodic overtime. Primary Responsibilities
- Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs.
- Research potential vendors to find reliable and cost-effective suppliers.
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Update internal databases with order details, including dates, vendors, quantities, and discounts.
- Conduct market research to identify pricing trends and the best purchasing options.
- Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices and terms.
- Prepare cost analyses to determine the best purchasing decisions.
- Maintain updated records of invoices, contracts, and other important documents.
- Follow up with suppliers to confirm or modify orders as necessary.
- Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition and meet quality standards.
- Perform additional other assigned duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a task focused mentality.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Good understanding of supply chain procedures and procurement processes.
- Previous experience in the steel fabrication industry and familiarity with materials used in construction.
