EXPERIENCE Minimum of two years of cardiac/telemetry RN experience preferred
DESCRIPTION: Consulting Cardiologists, the largest independent cardiology practice in Connecticut is looking for an experienced nurse to join our team.
JOB SUMMARY: Perform treadmill nuclear stress tests, pharmacologic nuclear stress tests, standard treadmill stress tests, stressechocardiograms, BP checks, injectable medication training, and post-procedural wound checks.
Educate/inform patients regarding testing instructions, results, schedule hospital procedures. Insert IV’s as needed for testing.
Administer IV fluids and medications as needed. Perform and process in-office blood draws. Assist with cardiac clearance.
Provide lab results and answer patient questions.
Cover MD’s messages and results buckets when in hospital or on vacation.
Assist MD’s to schedule testing or office visits as a result of interaction with a patient.
Contact patients to discuss the process of direct admission to the hospital; ensure that prior authorization is completed by the auth department. Contact hospital bed manager for office-to-ER transport.
Provide report to EMS for patients requiring ambulance transportation from the office. Provide EMS with EKGs, face sheet and office visit notes.
Telephone Triage: Take live patient calls most days Respond to triages from patient portal or Medical Assistant calls Research Epic/Athena EMR systems for information pertinent to the case Follow up/follow through from start to finish to close cases Handle walk-in’s and Cardiac Rehab triages Schedule patients as needed for all appointment types Various Other Duties

- Current Connecticut RN License
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school
- BLS and ACLS certification by the American Heart Association
- Strong cardiology background preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong work ethic
- Mature, independent self-starter
- Accurate and timely completion of all necessary documentation
- Delegate duties and tasks to team members appropriately
- Mentor and encourage team members to develop opportunities to promote growth
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION Must be a licensed State of Connecticut Registered Nurse, be proficient in cardiac monitoring and be certified in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
