Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Analyst with strong accounting and analytical skills to support our Project Managers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial aspects of projects, ensuring accuracy in budget reconciliations, report analysis, and contract management. This role is perfect for recent graduates or individuals with some experience in accounting or finance who are eager to gain exposure to corporate business processes and back-office operations. The Project Analyst will help Project Managers by handling financial details so that they can focus on project management activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform financial analysis, including budget-to-actual reconciliation, financial transaction reviews (credits, debits), and contract analysis.
- Prepare and analyze reports, identifying anomalies, discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with financial standards.
- Manage purchase orders (POs), contracts, and invoices to ensure timely payments and proper financial documentation.
- Assist in the reconciliation of project budgets as invoices are submitted and payments processed.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting on multiple projects.
- Maintain and update relevant financial systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba, Planview) and ensure data accuracy across platforms.
- Follow established processes and procedures for financial management tasks, including reporting and updating systems.
- Provide support to ensure efficient back-office operations, assisting in routine and repetitive tasks related to financial reporting.
- Communicate findings and irregularities to project management teams to facilitate informed decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial reports and identify discrepancies.
- Familiarity with accounting principles, including credits, debits, and general ledger understanding.
- Experience with financial software such as SAP, Ariba, and Planview, or a willingness to learn new systems.
- Proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
- A positive, teachable attitude, with a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in corporate finance or accounting, including internships or entry-level positions.
- Familiarity with project management processes, though this role does not require PM experience.
- Local candidates preferred, as the team works onsite one day a week (Wednesdays).
